Who Can Enter
1. Contest is open to any football fields in all cities or towns in the following states that are used in whole or in part for youth football games: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine and Connecticut.
2. Entry into this contest will only be accepted from an authorized town or city representative.
How to Enter/How to Win
3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
a. To enter, visit www.newfridaynightlights.com between 12:01 am on August 1, 2007 through 6:00 pm on September 30, 2007 and click on “Enter your City or Town.” An authorized representative/official from that city/town must fill out and submit the online form (found under the “Enter Your Town” Web site tab. The entry must include the representative’s name, state, town/city they are entering on behalf of, contact phone number, position within the town, email address, name of the field they are nominating, a digital photo no larger than 2mb of the football field, and a short essay (250 words or less) describing why their town/city deserves to win the contest. Entries must be filled out completely to be eligible. Any entry received that does not have all required information will be void. Entrants should not submit any photos that they do not wish to be included in the online voting. PHOTOS SUBMITTED MAY NOT INCLUDE ANY PEOPLE (field only). If one or more town/city representatives submit entries for more than one youth football field, only the first received submission for that city/town will be accepted into the contest.
4. Starting on October 1st 2007 at 12:01 am and ending on November 30, 2007 at 6:00 pm, all eligible entries (photo and the first 250 words of the entry essay) that were received during the entry period will be posted on www.newfridaynightlights.com and the public will be invited to vote. There is a limit of one vote per email address. For every 850 votes from the public received for a specific football field, that football field will receive one (1) entry in the grand prize drawing (for example, if a field receives 1000 votes, that field will get one entry in the grand prize drawing but if it received 1701 votes it will receive two entries in the grand prize drawing). If a city/town football field did not received at least 850 votes, then that city/town will not receive any entries in the grand prize drawing and will be ineligible to win or participate further in this contest.
5. There are no limits on the number of entries in the grand prize drawing that a city/town can have into the Grand Prize drawing. The number of grand prize entries received is based solely on the number of votes that city/town football field receives during the public voting period.
6. On Friday December 7th 2007, WEEI will randomly select one city/town football field from all of the grand prize drawing entries and whichever town/city football field is selected will be the Grand Prize winner of the Friday Night Lights contest, subject to verification of eligibility. The town/city representative who is listed on the winning entry form will be contacted by phone by a station representative. Awarding of the Grand Prize is subject to the selected city/town accepting the terms and conditions of the prize, signing a release agreement relieving the Station and contest sponsors from all liability related to the contest and the prize, and written authorization to commence work at the football field.
7. All entries become the property of the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned. Entries that are determined to be fraudulent will be void, and the person making such an entry barred from further participation in that contest. Incomplete entries may be disqualified in Station’s sole discretion.
8. Use of robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry modes is prohibited and will be void. In case of an identity dispute, the registered user of the email account on the date of entry will be the recognized user.
9. Town or city representatives may be asked to provide proof of authority at the request of the Station prior to the awarding of any prize.
10. By entering this contest, entrants understand and agree that the Station may elect to use any entry submitted for entertainment purposes on-air and may choose to “make fun” of any entry submitted. Entrants waive any right to make any claim against Station with respect to any disparaging comment made on-air about such entrant’s entry.
Prize(s)
11. One grand prize will be awarded in this contest. The grand prize will be one (1) 4-pole, 36 lighting fixture lighting system of Station’s choosing, including installation. Approximate Retail value of the system and installation will be approximately $60,000. ACCESS TO ELECTRIC POWER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PRIZE -- IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNING CITY/TOWN TO ENSURE THAT APPROPRIATE POWER IS AVAILABLE AT THE LOCATION OF THE INSTALLATION, AT THE TOWN/CITY’S SOLE COST AND EXPENSE. THE TOWN/CITY IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ANY AND ALL PERMITS AND/OR ZONING VARIANCES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO INSTALL THE LIGHTING SYSTEM. The lighting system will be installed by Northeast Electric on a day and time mutually agreeable to the applicable city/town officials and Northeast Electric. This prize, once installed, is provided “as is” and Station has not made, will not make and is not responsible in any manner for any warranties, representations or guarantees, express or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the lightening system or its installation, including without limitation, their quality, mechanical condition, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, with the exception of any standard manufacturer’s warranty that may apply to the lighting system.
12. The winning city/town is responsible for paying all applicable local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prize, as set forth in the contest rules, and may be issued an IRS 1099 form for all prizes won.
13. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein or stated on-air, no city/town will be entitled to receive any prize until after their eligibility has been confirmed or accepted by Station and all required paperwork (including, without limitation, liability release agreements) requested by Station have been executed by the appropriate authorized city/town officials.
Miscellaneous
14. Odds of winning depend on the how many entries a municipality receives, which is based on the number of votes that are cast during the voting period.
15. Station Management shall be the sole arbiters in all matters relating to the contest and in the interpretation of contest rules. Their decisions shall be final. Entry into the contests constitutes agreement by entrants to abide by these rules, as well as any other rules established by Station.
16. By participating in a this contest, entrants hereby agree that Station has no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession and/or use of a prize or an entrant’s participation in any such contest.
17. By participating in this contest, entrants hereby consents to the Station and contest sponsors’ usage of any one or more of the following for on-air broadcast and for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium without payment of additional consideration: entrants name; voice; likeness; biographical information; his/her participation in the contest; photos and essays submitted in this contest.
18. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and are void where prohibited.
19. Station reserves the right to: (i) terminate or declare any Contest null and void and rescind any prize, if in its sole judgment, the rules or the integrity of the Contest have been violated or compromised in any way, intentionally or unintentionally by any person whether or not a participant in the Contest; (ii) alter or amend these Contest rules at any time; and (iii) stop or conclude the Contest at any time without prior notice. Material changes to the contest rules will be broadcast on-air, when practical.

21. The name of the winning field/town will be available after January 1, 2008 by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Friday Night Lights Contest Winner Request, WEEI, 20 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135.
